Ekundayo has started to hang some of his paintings and ink drawings for his SURU show which opens this Saturday (5.24). We went down to chat and check out the art. If you're already a fan of his work, you need to check the show out. If you're not familiar with him, then this is a great starting point. In particular, he ball-point ink drawings are really sweet. He's using a new technique where he draws each piece on multiple intersecting pieces of paper and then rearranges them to create new emergent work. Enjoy this first look at his new artwork.

The Seed, a short film produced and directed by Linkin Park DJ Joseph Hahn and presented by Shorts International has made its debut on iTunes.
Hahn, whose directorial credits include such award-winning videos as Linkin Park’s “In The End” (2002’s VMA “Video of the Year” winner) and “Somewhere I Belong” (2003’s VMA “Best Rock Video” winner), as well as music clips for Xzibit, Story Of The Year and Alkaline Trio, makes his first foray into directing short films with THE SEED. Hahn recently directed Linkin Park videos for the smash hits “What I’ve Done” and “Bleed It Out” off their double-platinum-selling Minutes to Midnight album.
Musically, The Seed features two untitled original compositions by Hahn as well as a track (“There They Go”) from Fort Minor, the side project fronted by Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda.
Discussing the film’s impetus, Hahn says, “I saw a homeless guy having an argument with someone who clearly wasn't there. I wondered what it would look like to see the fight through his eyes. What if what he was seeing was real? Who does he think is out to get him?”
The Seed tells the story of Sung, portrayed by Will Yun Lee (Torque, Elektra, Die Another Day, “CSI,” “Bionic Woman”), a homeless veteran losing his mind on the banks of the L.A. River. Pursued by unseen forces, fighting unseen foes, Sung is ostensibly “just another lunatic.”
But as his invisible war continues under bridges and in tunnels, the viewer is taken deeper into his nightmare—into a nightmare of conspiracy, cloaking and the government's unseen war. Sung struggles to fight through what is visible to him, yet invisible to the world around him.
The Seed premiered at the 11th annual Pusan International Film Festival in 2006. In addition to its premiere in Pusan the film has shown at numerous festivals such at the Festivus Film Festival in Denver, CO where it won "Best Short Short" in 2008 and the Veneration Film Festival in Newport News where Hahn took the award for "Outstanding Cinematography" in 2007.
In 2008 The Seed will compete at various festivals including The San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival, The Malibu Film Festival, The Beverly Hills Film Festival, The Los Angeles United Film Festival and the Swansea Bay Film Festival in England.
Joseph Hahn, best known for his work as the DJ for the multi-platinum selling/award-winning rock-band Linkin Park, was born to first-generation Korean-American parents in Dallas, Texas and raised in Glendale, California. After attending Art Center College of Design in Pasadena for illustration, Joe pursued a career in special effects in television and film before joining Linkin Park in 1996.
Hahn says, “My love for film actually comes from my love for comic books as a kid. I used to not eat lunch so I could spend that money on comics. Eventually, as I got older and wiser, I started to correlate the similarities of graphic storytelling to cinema.” Joe Hahn currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Karen.

Linkin Park Dj's Short Film Hits Itunes
Linkin Park DJ Joseph Hahn's new short film, titled The Seed, became available for downloading at iTunes on Monday (March 24th) for $1.99. Hahn produced and directed the short, which stars Will Yun Lee as Sung, a homeless veteran losing his mind on the banks of the Los Angeles River and fighting unseen forces that only he can see. Hahn said the idea for the film came from a real-life incident, explaining, "I saw a homeless guy having an argument with someone who clearly wasn't there. I wondered what it would look like to see the fight through his eyes. What if what he was seeing was real? Who does he think is out to get him?"
breaking news: a brand new MS / DC sneaker is on the horizon.
it’s going to be part of their “remix” series. this will be the second remix project i’ve done for them, and i think it turned out INCREDIBLE. we’re remixing two different shoes this time—both are newer, slimmer fit shoes (not as bulky as DCs usually are…these feel more like the old-school skate sneakers we used to wear back in, like, ‘88).
the first round of these is going to be showing up this summer—available in hi top and low. we hand-picked top quality materials, and i’ve been testing the samples myself, to make sure they are one of the most comfortable and durable shoes i have. my art will appear on a few different places on the shoe…more info to come later!

Alex Pardee is coming to SURU July 12th for a special one man show. Be there for signed art, apparel, and other rad stuff.
Alex’s unique style is one conceived through watching years of horror movies, writing graffiti, and listening to gangster rap. His work best represents that of avibrant undead circus sideshow. Finapieces are oftenbrought to life by translating random shapes and colors into signs of torment and absurdity. By juxtaposing these two conflicting moods, Alex makes his works more personal to his viewers, forcing them to project their own feelings and emotions onto each character in his twisted universe.Alex’s own form of therapy is art. His love for drawing and painting spawned from his fascination with the grotesque images of Garbage Pail Kids and Tales from the Crypt comics.
In 1999. Alex released his first publication, My Book of Colors. Since that release Alex has devoted everyminute of his life to creating an entire universe of characters and monsters. In the past five years hehas continued to release books like The Secrets of Hollywood and the popular Bunnywith series. Alex continues to use his art as a means of self-medication, creating emotionally charged images on canvases, sketchbooks, and any other surfaces he can cover with his bizarre characters…
